About Cynthia McIntyre Photography

Cynthia McIntyre/Photographer/Name on the door

My mantra goes something like this - listen to your heart and follow your dreams.    Therefore, after a successful (and boring) career in healthcare, I followed my heart and began an intensive study of photography. I have been fortunate to be trained by some of the best photographers in the world.  From an early age I wanted to be a photographer but simply could not find the path.  However, once I became determined to listen to my heart and follow my dreams, I clearly saw the path before me!  To say I love photography is an understatement- my heart sings every time I push the shutter!  I sometimes gasp in amazement at the beautiful images I create by bringing out the best in my client.  One of my greatest talents is my ability to get nervous clients to relax in front of the camera.  When I work with editorial, corporate or commercial assignments, I take a sometimes vague ideas and bring an abundance of creativity to the project to the amazement of my client.  My work ethic is simple- tell me what you need and when you need it. I will complete your project on time, within budget and exceed your expectations!

One of my pet peeves is poor quality customer service.  My clients come first (period). Therefore, I return calls and emails within twenty four hours. I respect my clients and turn OFF my cell phone during a session. I will not put you on hold to take another call because YOU are the most important person in the world if I am currently talking with you (in person or on the phone).  I use my cell phone as a way for my clients to contact me before a session if they are going to be late or need directions. Any other time the best way to contact me is via my office number 203-364-1592. My email is info@cynthiamcintyre.com.   I monitor my emails and voice mails regularly so I am easily accessible to current and future clients.  I offer a no risk guarantee in that if you are not pleased with your portraits, albums, etc. I will do what I need to achieve your satisfaction- at no cost to you.  No arguments. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder- what matters is how YOU see the portrait.  If you are not pleased with the portrait, we will make it right.

I have an appreciation for the craft and technical aspects of photography and am constantly challenging myself to try new lighting techniques and photographic styles.  I consider myself a generalist photographer in that I am talented at photographing everything from newborns and families to architecture and product photography, business , model, acting headshots to event photography ( and yes, weddings!) Regardless of the type of photography, I believe a session should be fun.  One of the best compliments I can receive is hearing the clients say “that was fun” as they walk away from a session with me.

The loves of my life include my wonderfully patient and supportive husband of 36 years, my gifted son and his adorable wife and my brilliant daughter and her talented finance. Of course I cannot forget my diva cat, Libby and crazy cat, Jake and last, but far from least, my cute and cuddly Yorkie, Coco.

My mantra….

Listen to your heart, follow your dreams,
And let no one tell you what you're capable of.
Push the limits, bend the rules,

And enjoy every minute of it.
Laugh at everything,
Live for as long as you can.
Love all, but trust few.
Believe in yourself, and never lose faith in others
Settle for nothing but the best,
And give 110% in everything you do.
Life is a gift, live Life to its fullest,
And have a reason for everything -even if it's totally insane.

Find YOUR purpose in life, and LIVE it!

Photography sessions

We understand that events occur outside of your control and the need to reschedule or cancel your photography session may arise. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact Cynthia McIntyre Photography at least 48 hours in advance (203.364.1592 or Cynthia's cell phone is 203-241-0226), and we will reschedule your session as our schedule permits.  We cannot guarantee a weekend session for the rescheduled appointment but will make every effort to accommodate your schedule.  If you fail to notify Cynthia McIntyre Photography at least 48 hours in advance of a session, a $50 cancellation fee will be assessed.  The creation fee (i.e.  session fee) includes Cynthia's time and talent in the creation of original portraits. A deposit is required to reserve the session date and time.   No prints are included in the creation fee. The creation fee is non-refundable, but may be applied to ONE rescheduled session if we were notified of the need to cancel the session at least 48 hours before the session.

Canceling of prints and other tangible goods

Orders of tangible goods (e.g., prints, framed portraits, etc.) are processed instantly and canceling the processing and delivery of tangible goods after ordering is not always possible. We advise any client wishing to cancel a tangible order to call us immediately at (203) 364-1592 and if delivery or processing has not been made, we will issue a full refund. Refunds cannot be made after your order has processed or shipped.

Refund Policy for Session Fees:

Due to the unique nature of photographs, photography sessions cannot be refunded. However, Cynthia will be happy to offer a free portrait session to create the images desired.  We encourage customers to be very clear and realistic of their desires and expectations to ensure the highest level of satisfaction from their photography session. Keep in mind that the camera only takes an image of what is already there and won't make you younger, thinner and won't turn your brown eyes blue.  It is your responsibility to notify us if you feel as though you have a 'bad side', dislike certain angles / focal ranges or do not wish a part of your body to be photographed. Tangible goods are usually processed via a third party fulfillment center. If you receive a tangible good that is defective (misprint, broken, off color, etc), we will have the item replaced to meet with your satisfaction.  Cynthia McIntyre Photography accepts responsibility for costs associated with returns due to manufacturer defects, or printing or shipping errors. In such cases, we will, by our discretion, either replace the order in question at no cost to you, or issue a refund to you in the form of credit toward future purchases. However, the defective item must be returned to Cynthia McIntyre Photography before the item will be replaced or credit issued.  Cash refunds are not provided - only credit toward future purchases and sessions.
